Jags football to play at Florida in 2020
MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama football program will take on Florida in 2020 as part of a revised non-conference schedule released on Thursday.
The Jaguars will visit Gainesville on Saturday, Sept. 19, that fall with a match-up against Oklahoma State — the last in a three-game agreement with the Cowboys — now slated for Sept. 16, 2023.
The contest with the Gators will come after the Jags begin the 2020 campaign with a trip to Southern Mississippi followed by their home opener against Grambling. South will conclude non-Sun Belt Conference action that fall at home against Alabama-Birmingham the week after going to UF.
The Gators are slated to be the fifth Southeastern Conference opponent that Jaguars face since visiting Mississippi State in September 2012. In addition to a three-game series with the Bulldogs — which USA concluded by earning a 21-20 victory in Starkville to start the 2016 campaign — South has also faced Tennessee (2013) and South Carolina ('14), with the Jags set to visit Mississippi the opening week of the season in the fall.
With the move of the OSU game, USA now has two non-league contests on the schedule in 2023; the Jaguars will play host to Central Michigan the week prior to traveling to Stillwater.
