Alabama Women’s Basketball Schedule Finalized with Announcement of SEC Matchups
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2017-18 Alabama women's basketball schedule has been finalized with the announcement of the Southeastern Conference slate, which was released by the league office on Tuesday.
The Crimson Tide will play a total of 16 league games split evenly with eight at home and eight on the road. The schedule consists of a single round robin game and a home and away with Auburn, Alabama’s permanent opponent, and two rotating opponents. This season’s rotating opponents include Arkansas and LSU.
UA opens the SEC portion of its schedule on New Year’s Eve against Missouri in Tuscaloosa and will then play a pair of road games at Florida (Jan. 4) and Arkansas (Jan. 7). Alabama returns to Coleman Coliseum for its first of two matchups with LSU before heading to Starkville to take on Mississippi State, the NCAA championship runner-up a season ago. Home contest with Texas A&M (Jan. 18) and Vanderbilt (Jan. 21) are next up for the Tide, followed by games at Kentucky (Jan. 25) and Auburn (Jan. 28) to close out the month of January.
Alabama plays back-to-back home games to tip off the second month of conference play against Arkansas (Feb. 4) and 2017 NCAA Champion South Carolina (Feb. 8). The Tide's home swing will be followed by two straight away games, first at Ole Miss (Feb.11) and then at Tennessee (Feb. 15). UA returns to Tuscaloosa for its final two home games against Auburn (Feb. 18) and Georgia (Feb. 22) before closing out the regular season at LSU (Feb. 25).
The 2018 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament will be played Wednesday, February 28 - Sunday, March 4 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
Season tickets are currently on sale for $45 for public reserved general admission. Faculty/staff and senior citizen season tickets are available for $25, and groups of four or more public reserved general admission are reduced to $35.
Donation tickets for the women's basketball season are also on sale and offered at the discounted group rate of $35. Tickets purchased will be given to local 501(c) 3 agencies and/or military personnel. Donation tickets will not be mailed to the account holder but will be donated directly to the participating agencies.
