Vessels Removed from Dauphin Island
DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WPMI) The second phase of a NOAA Marine debris program is cleaning up our local waterways. Organizers say up to 42 pieces of vessels were removed from the Dauphin Island Canal Thursday morning.
Organizers tell Local 15 News the debris is from hurricanes and human negligence. The project is paid for by funding from NOAA and the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
