Orange Beach police looking for two women targeting drunk men
Gulf Shores, Ala. (WPMI) —
Orange beach Police say during spring break in March, two men walking along Highway 182 fell victim to a scheme carried out by two women.
"It's ashamed since they're coming out here trying to enjoy the beach for spring break and these girls are taken advantage of them and taking their money," beach goer Ethan Hillyer said.
Police say these two women were driving a grey mini van offering men who appeared drunk a ride. They say at some point they'd ask the man to pay for gas.
"Either getting it from the victim and using the card for them or they're watching the person use the card." Orange Beach Police Lt. Steve Brown said.
From there they remember the pin number, at some point take the man's card and later rack up charges.
Police say the Women also hit other areas.
"We believe we have associated cases in the state of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi," Brown said.
Police say this should serve as a reminder not to take rides from someone you don't know and give up important information.
"Don't compromise your personal information by PIN number or credit card. If you're uncomfortable with it get out of the vehicle," he said.
Police believe the women are now in Florida or somewhere along the East coast.
