Mobile officials announce readiness plan ahead of Nate's landfall

Public works crews spent the morning cleaning out the storm drains in areas prone to flooding.

Mayor Sandy Stimpson met with first responders and city officials to form a plan in light of Tropical Storm Nate heading towards the Gulf.

Public works crews spent the morning cleaning out the storm drains in areas prone to flooding.

Stimpson urged everyone to take every precaution as Nate prepares for landfall.

"This will be an ongoing process over the next couple of days. We are taking preventative measures to make sure we do not lose power."

Stimpson also urged those in low lying areas to pay extra attention to weather reports.

Storm surge is expected to be anywhere from 4-7ft.
