JOBS! Amazon center in Theodore hiring, growth continues
THEODORE, Ala. (WPMI) —
The Amazon Sortation Center in Theodore is hiring and the facility is one step closer to becoming a reality.
Located on Tripple Road in Theodore, construction is well underway at the 350,000 square foot facility. It’s the first of its kind in the state of Alabama. As the retail giant prepares to move in, other businesses are setting up shop nearby.
Two exits up in Grand Bay, a Popeye’s and Dunkin' Donuts are going up near the TA Truckstop. The new businesses are moving in right next door to Leroy's BBQ.
"I think it will be good, it will bring more business here, more jobs," said Leroy Murray.
Along with building up, the company is hiring in the area. The sortation center is expected to open in October before the holiday season. They will be looking to employee 1,200 people in full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions.
According to Amazon’s website, the company is looking to fill the following positions in Theodore right now: safety specialist, onsite medical representative, HR business partner, and operations administrative assistant.
