The violence started on Pleasant Valley Road Thursday. Mobile police responded to a home around 4:30 p.m. when they arrived they found a man, in his 70’s, dead. Authorities said this was a home invasion turned deadly. Police are still working to determine how the elderly man died and if he was shot. The victim was found not far from Tonnie Crawford’s home.

“It’s sad you’re not safe in your own home,” she said.

Shortly after, police responded to a shooting on Jessie Street in Trinity Gardens. Authorities said two people—a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man---were shot around 6:30PM. They were both taken to the hospital, one of the victims has life-threatening injuries.

Just moments later, cops rushed out to the Central Stop gas station on Howells Ferry Road. A 25-year-year-old was shot and killed in the area. Several people tried to save him, but he didn’t make it. Police later arrested 22-year-old David McBride. He was charged with robbery, kidnapping, and sodomy in connection with this case.

“It’s scary, it’s really scary,” said Joann Batain, “it’s getting like New Orleans, New York or Chicago”.

Around 9PM Thursday, police were called out to Selman Street. Officers located a victim with multiple gunshot wounds, no word on the condition.

And early Friday morning, shots rang out again in the Toulminville. A man, in his 20’s, shot and killed inside of a home near Carleton Avenue and Donald Street. Neighbors and witnesses said he lived inside of the home with his girlfriend.
