Gulf Shores PD name suspect and victim in hit and run accident
GULF SHORES, Ala. (WPMI) —
The suspect was arrested after hit and run in Gulf Shores.
An accident happened on West 20th Avenue and Gulf Shores Parkway on the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge.
Aubrey Coggin began to direct traffic and was then struck by a hit and run driver,.
The Orange Beach Police Department says they pulled over the hit and run suspect in Miflin, AL.
Gulf Shores PD have released the following statement
On May 14 at about 9:47 pm the Gulf Shores Police responded to a traffic accident on Highway 59 on the Holmes Bridge. It was reported that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene.
After emergency personnel arrived the pedestrian, 26-year-old Aubrey Coggins [sic] of Foley, Alabama was pronounced dead on the scene. The vehicle that struck him fled the scene but was later located by Orange Beach Police officers and the offender was taken into custody. Charges are pending on the driver, 40-year-old David Justin Todd of Gulf Shores Alabama.
