Gov. Ivey signs autism bill

(WPMI: KAY IVEY) State senator Trip Pittman from Fairhope was the only state lawmaker to vote against the bill earlier this week.

Friday morning Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed a bill into law requiring insurers to cover autism treatment for children.

Parents say the treatment can be life-changing, but too expensive for most families.

The final version of the bill was approved by the house shortly after 2 this morning.

State senator Trip Pittman from Fairhope was the only state lawmaker to vote against the bill earlier this week.
