Elberta man shoots roommate, charged with murder
ELBERTA, Ala. (WPMI) —
An Elberta man has been charged with murder after shooting his roommate on 26541 Schoen Road in Elberta.
The Elberta Police Department responded to a call of a possible homicide at the location Friday at around 11:30p.m. When officers arrived on scene 57-year-old Gregory David Buck was is the front yard and said that he had shot his roommate.
Upon entry into the residence police discovered the body of 43-year-old Jacob Scott O’Bryan lying on the floor of the living room. According to police both Buck and O'Bryan were drinking alcohol, Buck went to the store to purchase more alcohol and got into an argument with O'Bryan once he returned home.
Buck then retrieved a 12-guage shotgun from his bedroom and fired one round into O'Bryan's chest. Buck was arrested, charged with murder and transported to the Baldwin County Correction Center. Buck is being held on a $50,000 bond.
O'Bryan's body was taken to the Department of Forensic Science in Mobile for an autopsy. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this investigation.
