More than 50 people were displaced after a fire at Pine Brook Apartments on Saturday, August 5.

"I am only smiling because I am trying not to cry." Mattie Guidroz said as she recounted the experience.

Guidroz said she wanted to scream and cry seeing how much pain has been caused.

Jarred Jamar Thomas was arrested Saturday after the fire and tells Local 15 he does not feel bad about what he did.

Now Guidroz questions what's going to happen to her neighbor who is accused of causing so much pain at the cost of her and other's safety.

"They're talking about charging him with arson, they need to charging him with attempted murder. That's murder you knew people were in there I could be dead right now"

Red Cross says that although families are still out of their home, the shelter did not need to be kept open Sunday night.

Family and friends of the victims have opened their homes and others had apartment insurance to cover their hotels.
