Exotic birds featured at annual 'Bird Fair' July 30, 31

There's an old saying that birds of a feather flock together. But July 30 and and 31 , birds of many feathers will gather together again at the Abba Shrine Center just off Schillinger Road. The annual South Alabama Caged Bird Society's 'Bird Fair' is not to be missed if you have a pet bird or just love the sight of these amazing animals.

The event runs 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. both days at the center located at 7701 Hitt Road in Mobile. Admission is $5, and children under 12 are free.

There will be vendors offering all species of birds, bird toys, cages, and foods. There is a raffle table with many different prizes for bird lovers, dog and cat lovers, even gardeners and handymen.

Proceeds from the weekend will go to further avian research to help the birds live long happy lives, and help save species from the endangered/ extinct lists.
