Active Shooter' Reported at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia  DISTRICT COLUMBIA, WASH: A manhunt is underway for armed prisoner Wossen Assaye. Assaye escaped custody at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church.

Fairfax County Police say that he was in the custody of a private security guard when he  with a gun.Assaye is dressed in a hospital gown.

Police appear to be focusing their search on a parking garage on the hospital's property.

All entrances to the hospital are blocked, and several intersections have been closed.

The hospital is under a silver alert, several employees and patients told News4.

Officers are staged at the entrances to the hospital, along Gallows Road and at the exit from I-495 to Gallows Road.

No further details have been released.

The National Rifle Association has now made its endorsement for the District One Congressional race.

The NRA is backing Bradley Byrne in the Republican Primary run-off. The organization said Byrne's views are solid and consistent with pro-gun voting records in the Alabama State Senate.

Bradley Byrne and Dean Young attended a forum at the Fairhope Yacht Club.
