Newest Jaguars move in

Classes are right around the corner and it was move-in-day for some of the newest jags.

It’s the time of year where lives will change forever.

College freshman getting their first taste of an unforgettable experience.

On Saturday it was move-in day.

Rolling into the school year at the University of South Alabama.

Classes are right around the corner and it was move-in-day for some of the newest jags.

Even the upperclassmen were there to reflect.

" I'm so excited and seeing how fresh their faces are and they are excited to be here and knowing there are struggles ahead but it gets better," Amber Spencer said.

With an estimated 12,000 undergraduate population. Students from all over come to the rising institution for varying reasons.

" The business school is beautiful and as soon as I saw it on tour I was like I got to come here," Oscar Young said.

Move-in day isn't just for the freshman.

It’s for the former freshman looking to get a leg up on their sophomore year.

"I'm mostly looking forward to getting more involved on campus because as a freshman I wanted to wait and get used to things and get involved on campus and keep my GPA high," Loretta Burems said.

But the biggest smiles aren't coming from the students. It’s the parents who may be the proudest in the bunch on move-in day.

Some rocking their brand new Jags gear and others questioning the amount of stuff needed to get through the college year.

" We really didn't realize she had so much stuff is the biggest thing and once we got her in the room she has so much stuff we need to get in order," Jeanette Burems said.

Classes for USA begin on August the 16th.
