MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - With the new school year under way, how your children spend their time after school is just as important as the material they learn in the classroom.

The YMCA of South Alabama offers an after school program for kids ages 5-14 in both Mobile and Baldwin Counties. The after school program includes activities like homework assistance, sports, swimming at certain locations, and much more. The YMCA of South Alabama’s after school program is all about keeping the kids’ brain engaged during after school hours. The YMCA covers around 30 different schools across the whole South Alabama organization.

The Boys and Girls Club of South Alabama offers an after school program for kids ages 6-18 at six different locations in Mobile County. Club members can participate in a variety of activities like sports, art, technology, and education. The club also offers kids the chance to participate in character and leadership opportunities to help them make their voice heard throughout their communities. Homework and education are a big piece of the puzzle with the Boys and Girls Club after school program, as staff likes to reinforce the material the kids learn in school in a fun way of learning.
