It’s time to cruise the coast!
Learn the secrets behind magic Christmas in lights at a new holiday workshop at Bellingrath Gardens. Get an up-close look at the process of tying light strings to set pieces for the magical event that dazzles the 65-arce estate each year. The workshop involves tying LED lights to a metal frame to create your own glowing green 3-foot-tall, take home tree. Its Saturday from 9 till noon.
The 2016 Reese’s Senior Bowl charity run is this Saturday. There will be a 10K, 5K, and a one-mile fun run through downtown Mobile. The run is from 8 until noon. There will be a family fun festival at Bienville Square following the run.
The 9th annual Sunday night Sensation is Sunday at the Pillars of Mobile. It benefits the Distinguished Young Women scholarship program which celebrates leadership and talent for young women nationwide. Sunday night Sensation features six rooms of food, wine, live music and a silent auction.
To promote downtown local business, downtown alive is hosting a street party Sunday. A rock climbing wall will be set up for kids. Bring your pups as well because there will be a dog competition going on. Local vendors, aerial acrobats, USA cheerleaders, Azalea trail maids, Disney princesses and much more will be there. Mark your calendar and enjoy the family fun event.
The Frank Brown international songwriter’s festival featuring 200 songwriters kicks off today through next Friday. It is at the Flora-Bama Lounge. Numerous venues in downtown Pensacola, Perdido key, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores will be there. The fest allows aspiring songwriters and musicians to have their songs heard.
